  • Rajab Butt Arrested A Pakistani Youtuber


Rajab Butt, a Pakistani YouTuber, has been charged with blasphemy and PECA violations because of the uproar surrounding the release of his cologne, "295". The name of the scent alludes to Pakistan's blasphemy laws, which infuriated hardline organizations like Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) ¹.


TLP leader Haider Ali Shah Gillani filed a legal complaint against Butt after the now-deleted video he posted announcing the perfume backfired, accusing him of trying to "normalize" disregard for Islamic laws ². Butt has millions of followers on social media.


Since then, the YouTuber has withdrawn the product and issued an apology. He is still facing blasphemy accusations, though, which carries a maximum 10-year prison term ³.



Butt has previously been embroiled in disputes, such as one concerning the unlawful ownership of a lion cub. His already complicated legal history is further complicated by this recent development ⁴.
