Images and specifications of Samsung's initial smart glasses are said to have just leaked.
The photos, which Android Headlines was able to get, seem to be "based on real-life pictures of a testing unit of these smart glasses" rather than leaked marketing images in the traditional sense. This is presumably done to hide the source of the leak.
A brief specification sheet for the company's initial smart glasses—which, like Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, lack any form of display—was also included in the study.
Samsung ‘Galaxy Glasses’ Specs (reported)
| Processor | Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 |
| Battery | 155mAh |
| Camera | 12MP Sony IMX681 |
| Connectivity | WiFi, Bluetooth 5.3 |
| Weight | ~50g |
| Audio | Directional speakers; bone-conduction tech in patents |
| Lenses | Photochromic transition lenses |
| Platform | Android XR with Gemini AI |
It is true that the stated spec sheet above is far from complete; it leaves out details like the onboard microphone array, frame rate, estimated battery life, charging case, and photo/video capture resolution.
However, if the specifications are correct, it will include a 12MP camera sensor, a Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 CPU (perhaps also Gen 1), and a battery that is comparable to Ray-Ban Meta's.
Nevertheless, Google's Android XR operating system won't be the only pair of smart glasses made by Samsung. Last year, Google said that it is collaborating with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker to develop a number of models that would be released this year, some of which could have displays.
Kering, the parent company of Gucci, has revealed that it is collaborating with Google to develop smart glasses under the Gucci name that are purportedly running Android XR.
This comes after it was recently reported that Samsung is developing a second pair of smart glasses that would resemble the $800 Meta Ray-Ban Display that was introduced in the US last year.
Unverified speculations claim that the display-clad Samsung spectacles, code-named "Haean," will be released sometime in 2027 and cost between $600 and $900.
